Thanks to Neil W2NDG for this timely poem. All who checked in to the '8:35 on the 805' QSO appreciate his creativity.
'Twas the night before field day, on one four six eight oh five
not a member was stirring, as if no one was alive
The tents, tables and chairs, were ready to go
In hopes that some volunteers, would happen to show
The hams were nestled all snug in their shacks
where pictures of transceivers hung from thumbtacks
Me with my ICOM and the XYL with a Kenwood
Had just settled down for some sleep if we could
When on the repeater, there arose such a clatter
I ran to my rig, to see what was the matter
Away to my shack, I flew for the win
Turned up the volume, and settled right in
It was then that I heard him
Tapping out code on a key
Our fearless leader
K2JLV
He switched to voice and raised it up high
On Paul, on Kenny, on Mike on John
On Dave, on Kate, on Zina, on Lon
On Alan, on Doc, on Ethan, on Bob
On Guy, on Nick, on Joe and on Rob
On Neil, On Neil, On Neil, On Neil, On...
