I was just wondering if anybody in this group is active on 2m simplex. I monitor 146.520 whenever I home with my Yaesu HT’s and when I am mobile. I call CQ once in a while and it’s very rare to get a response. Maybe we could set up a monthly 2m simplex net/test just to see who can talk to who in the area. I am located in Staatsburg. Occasionally I will monitor the repeater input frequency and some operators come in crystal clear. Anyways, just a thought in case the repeater does go down for any reason.

Hi Jeremy, Great idea to 'set up a monthly 2m simplex net/test' as you suggest.
In June of 2020 several of us did conduct some 2 meter and 10 meter simplex tests and the results can be seen by clicking the 'Download our Contact Matrix' on the Home page of this website.
However that was long ago and many more have joined our '835 on the 805' Mid-Hudson Morning QSO since then.
Please check-in when you can or if your schedule does not allow you to do that in the mornings let me know and I will do my best to facilitate another experiment.
Knowing our 2 meter simplex capabilities in the Mid-Hudson Region would facilitate emergency contacts should the OMARC repeaters or repeaters operated by other clubs be out of service for a period of time.
The link below should take you to the Contact Matrix that I mentioned and is also available on the Home Page.
That's awesome! I will definitely try to check in one of these days. Right now my schedule is pretty booked being that I have a newborn at home. I will definitely get onto the net one of these mornings!
