Russel Thomas, KV4S, has written a very nice utility program that downloads the latest DMR digital contact database from Radioid.net and formats it correctly for AnyTone, Radioddity GD-77 (unfiltered results), and TYT UV Model Radios. One click and you have the latest database downloaded and ready to transfer to your radio using your CPS software. You can even use Task Manager, (Windows), to schedule the download automatically on a regular basis. Russel says to contact him if you would like other radio models added. I am using this program for my Anytone AT-D878UV and it works great!
Thanks Chris...a bit scary for me to try without some coaching...however good to know you are there to help.
have an a TYT MD-380 which is now my 'back-up' DMR Radio do you think it is a candidate for this method?
Paul - I would think that the MD-380 should work with the TYT UV formatted file. I have a Windows script that runs on home automation server which in turn runs this program each night and saves it in the default directory that my CPS program uses. The file overwrites itself continuously so it doesn't chew up storage space and the up to date database is always there if I need it.
@Chris AC2KV Thanks Chris...much appreciated. Happy Day!
