This Friday and Saturday, April 16-17, between 9:30 am and 10:00 am Amateur Radio Stations from Tannersville in Greene County to Tuxedo in Orange County will be testing their ability to communicate with one another using 2-Meter single side band [Upper Side Band] on 144.200 MHz.
The purpose of this test and others in this series of tests and experiments is to allow participants to learn about their ability to communicate with one another in a ‘repeater down’ or ‘electric grid down’ situation along with having fun as part of a community of Mid-Hudson Region amateur radio enthusiasts.
The specific objective of the April 16-17, 2021 test is to learn about our group capability and individual participant ability to operate and communicate on the 2-Meter band using Single Side Band (Upper Side Band) voice transmissions.
The call signs, names and location information of those who have pre-registered to transmit can be downloaded by clicking on the button below.
Listeners can follow along and report what is ‘Heard’ or ‘Not Heard’ during the pre-assigned time slots. If able, reports on clarity of signal and signal strength can also be included.
A ‘Listeners Only’ report will be created and posted in this Forum along with the results of the transmitting stations.
All are invited and welcome to participate.
Please email your report to Paul AC2UQ at email@example.com.
