    My DMR

I thought I’d share my setup. I have an HT radio, a Modem/MMDVM (my radio connects to the Modem), and a Rasberry PiZero (the Modem is wired to the Modem/MMDVM, which in turn connects vi wifi to my home wifi and the internet).

Radio, Anytone 878, I bought it from Bridgecom on Amazon.

    AnyTone AT-D878UV Plus https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RL8GYJ6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_D9XgFbMKWVE40

    Hotspot in two parts:

MMDVM, Duplex MMDVM from N5BOC of Lonestar electroincs.

PiStar. The above MMDVM modem sits on top of a PiZero, I needed to solder on a header to make this connection.

I needed a case to put both of these in to complete the hotspot.

I also needed a micro SD card for the RPi, I think I got this one.

    Samsung (MB-ME32GA/AM) 32GB... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWN9Q99?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I used my Mac to download the Pistar software. I also downloaded some software to my MacBook to copy (burn) the PiStar software (image) to the SD card.

I do not need a PC for any of the above. Sadly though the Anytone 878 radio can only be programmed with a PC. But, I can program the radio from the keypad and not need a computer at all or a code plug. That is my understanding. I configure my hotspot via a webpage, mostly I use my iPhone to change the settings etc.

I hope this fills in another piece for someone.

I had a tremendous amount of help from Steve, K2GOG and Dave, K2JLV

Hi Kate, Thanks so much. A nice 'template' for each of us to follow when and if we try to support one another in our 'DMR Discovery Journey'.

Each of us have different wants and needs. Each of us may have different radios and 'hot spots'. Each of us do or do not have computers. Some of us have Windows based computers, others Macs, others Linux.

As we share information and ask questions it is helpful to remember the diversity that makes our 'quaranteam' so much fun.
