DMR...Is it for you?

Updated: Jul 22, 2020

Several participants on the ‘8:35 on the 805’ morning QSO have expressed interest in learning more about Digital Mobile Radio and possibly employing it as an additional way for many of us to continue ‘keeping together while staying apart’ during this time of our lives.

To begin with I will thank Rob W2RWS for sending me a copy of John W2XAB Burningham’s Amateur Radio Guide to Digital Mobile Radio. When I first became interested in DMR I learned a great deal reading the first edition of this helpful guide.

John is an amateur radio operator in Tennessee and has generously enabled open access to his copyrighted updated May 2019 guide at http://guide.k4usd.org.

Perhaps those of us who are interested in doing more with DMR to keep in touch can meet together using Zoom.com to discuss what our needs and goals are (e.g. learning more, sharing code plugs, buying a radio, scheduling a weekly net etc.) and how we might help one another to accomplish them. If so, you can leave a comment here or email me.

Take care.
